Edible Flowers + Cake

When I make a cake my first choice for decoration is most definitely edible flowers.  We try to keep some edible flowers in our garden as much as possible...but it is also great to be able to pick some up at a store and Central Market usually has a little box of them in warmer months.  For those of you in central Texas I think the best edible flowers to plant are: zinnas, marigolds, roses, pansies, johnny jump-ups, nasturtium, and snapdragons (they can be a little bitter though).  

Get out there...plant your flowers and when you get some blooms...bake a cake to celebrate and decorate!
